After the success of "Ram-Leela", it became two films, one remake and one Hindi version with fresh name Goliyon ki Rasleel Ram Leela. The Hindi version was released on 11 February 2013. The remake was titled "Heer Ranjhaan" in Pakistan with some scenes shot in Bandra where this movie's lead actress Kareena Kapoor has filmed recently for her movie "Jodhaa Akbar". It was released on the same date as Goliyon Ki Rasleel Ram Leela in India. The film had a mixed response from critics and audiences.In 2017, it was announced that a Hindi remake would be made by Vishal Pandya. The remake will star Amrita Rao and Rishi Kapoor.
The soundtrack of the film was composed by A. R. Rahman with lyrics written by Javed Akhtar and Mayur Puri. "Ram-Leela" is the first collaboration of Rahman and Javed Akhtar after the former's scores for the 2010 film "Black". The album received positive reviews from critics. Joginder Tuteja of Bollywood Hungama gave the album 4/5 stars and said that "A.R. Rahman delivers his best in his recent years and makes "Ram Leela" a strong contender to be among the best soundtracks of 2013". "Bollywood Life" also gave it 4/5 stars and said, "The whole album is an intricate mix of melodious music and hard-hitting numbers and it should be a proud moment for Rahman fans."
